We say you should open your mind to travel and not just a visit to the next city. We mean travel abroad which will open your mind to so many possibilities.
Although we insist on the value of the English language, the whole experience of travelling abroad can be so rewarding i.e. whatever your language of communication on your travels the important thing is that you will be meeting new and interesting people who can add to your education on so many levels. Although languages such as Chinese, German and Spanish are increasing their share of language use there is no deniying that English and English language schools will maintain there importance for some time to come
If you have thought of travelling abroad but without considering your language of communication, you will be in for a hard time. Think again! Language is how you will buy your daily bread, ask for help, get a job etc etc.
Anyway, back to the point, there are more Germans learning English than there are people of any nationality learning German. And indeed the same applies to all the most important languages that anybody is leanring.
